Hi folks, Captain Tom Hall here with Marine Servicenter - San Diego
"Makai" is a gorgeous 2020 Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 that has been very well-maintained, is in excellent condition, and has a list of nice upgrades.
She is a standard (deep) draft boat with 2 cabins and 1 head, in-mast furling mainsail and furling self-tacking jib. Her Yanmar diesel engine only has 230 hours on it and is in like new condition. The cockpit is very spacious and has twin helm stations. And she has B&G charter plotter / MFD and Autopilot w/ remote on the cockpit bulkhead.
The 30.1 is a big step forward in hull design for smaller cruising boats. The Finot design incorporates a hard-chine for added "form stability" with twin rudders, making her much more stable in gusty and high wind conditions. This makes the boat more comfortable and safer to move around deck.
The Oceanis 30.1 feels like a much bigger boat yet provides the advantages of lower slip and maintenance costs when compared to larger boats. The 30.1 won Cruising World Magazine Boat of the Year, and this one is truly turn-key ready to go.
Beneteau describes the boat like this:
The Oceanis 30.1 is easy to sail but lively to helm and promises new experiences and thrills. This robust little smart cruiser is small enough to trailer, opening up endless possibilities for sailing on lakes and rivers, as well as coastal sailing and high sea adventures.
With a stemhead, hard-chine hull, well-proportioned sides and coachroof, the Oceanis 30.1 artfully resembles a small yacht.
The Finot-Conq plan has met the double challenge of power and simple navigation. With her slender bow, optimized weight, and square-top mainsail, she performs well in all points of sail.
For beginners or for short-handed sailing, the self-tacking jib and the single winch make her easy to handle. For performance, the Oceanis 30.1 has a large overlapping genoa, a furling code zero and an asymmetric spinnaker. Aft, a step affords access to the sea and can be supplemented by a small lifting platform.
