Description

" Halia" holds true to her Hawaiian name offering cherished memories of the sea. She is a 2001 Legacy 28 Soft-top express propelled by a single Yanmar diesel engine providing 310 HP to a shaft driven propeller. Her engine was replaced in 2016 and has only 350 hours. The Legacy 28 features an abbreviated keel that allows for good tracking, a modified-V entry that takes the bang out of the seas, and flat aft section that gives the boat stability and easy planing. Even with a powerful engine, the 28 is quiet, with low-vibration. An oversized, pot-style muffler also keeps the sound down. Seating on the bridge deck and cockpit accommodates nine easily. The copilot seat to port is tall with visibility equal to that of the helmsman. Other features include an opening center windshield, trim tabs, secure bow rails, and hydraulic steering. Storage is abundant with under-berth stowage, a hanging locker, and storage below all the bench seats. The cabin features six feet of headroom, a V-berth, and is finished in cherry joinery and teak sole. Four opening ports and an overhead hatch allows plenty of light and air. Other features include a refrigerator, a two-burner stove, and an enclosed head that also serves as a shower. The cabin has added comfort provided by an A/C and heating system.
