The Pearson 303 is a wholesome family cruiser with a workable/traditional interior, acceptable performance and above average construction. Bill Shaw designed the Pearson 303, and his reputation as the premier American production sailboat yacht designer is evident in every aspect of this design. The hull featuring a sloop rig is moderate, with a displacement/length ratio of 274, and a sail area/displacement ratio of 15.6. The 303’s length/beam ratio (2.77) is low, giving the boat a lot of room inside (6'3" headroom) , and providing initial stability so the boat won’t feel tender. Solid laminate FRP hull with internal lead ballast. Comfortable accommodations with V berth forward, enclosed head, full galley, main salon with settee berths, and aft quarter berth, resulting in a light and bright interior with teak trim. All the interior cushions, cockpit cushions, and exterior canvas are brand new. The Yanmar 3YM 20HP 3 cylinder diesel was added in 2018, and has 500 hours. Varifold folding 3 blade propeller and pedestal wheel steering. Electronics include knotmeter, depthfinder, VHF with AIS, wheel autopilot and radar/chartplotter. Main sail with jiffy reefing and genoa on a Schaefer roller furling. Recent improvements include replacing the Bomar main salon hatch and 2 new batteries. Anchoring/docking/safety equipment. 2024 Survey available. Sale will benefit the Shannon River Marine Heritage Foundation, Bristol, RI
